I am a nurse! Been working nights for 15 years and my body clock is so up the swanny that even on my days off, i sleep all day and am up all night. Thing is i earn an extra 30% because i work nights.

Ah very nice extra money! What kind of nurse are you? My sisters studying nursing and my mum used to be an auxillary nurse doing nights

Morning people. I am still roaming around as well.:D I am normally an early morning (as in getting up) but have beeen falling asleep on the sofa early evening then cannot sleep at bed time:eek:

Fully registered now (staff nurse). I did 10 years as an auxillary before scrapping the money to get myself through university. How far has your sister got left on her coarse?

My sisters just passed her first year. She's doing mental health and really enjoying it. Congrats on qualifying :T

Thanks Sali_mali. I did a spell in mental health, glad your sister is enjoying it. Its worth it in the end espeically when you really can make a difference to peoples lives.
What do you do for a living then Sali ?

I`ve wanted to do nursing for a long time. Midwifery specifically but cannot afford to live on the bursary. So am a rsw in a special needs school instead.

Bursary's are way, way to low!! Trouble is the government still feel that nursing is vocational not academic and therefore we don't get the same kind of money other students in other professions get.

I'm a student studying medicine and a waitress in the meantime. I was going to do midwifery aswell messy but then I changed my mind after actually seeing a birth haha. I was much more squeamish than I thought I would be! Blood, guts and gore - not a problem, the miracle of birth - blargh!

I find it amazing that we are all pursueing similar careers. That obviously means that working in health care is seriously under paid! Sali, must be hard for you juggling the study with working as well?
