In 10-12 years time you will be 10-12 years older and more creaky!
I generally used the shower daily, until I hit my mid-40's, but now I just use it to rinse off after a nice joint-soothing bubble bath.
As other posters have mentioned, it is also invaluable when you are feeling under the weather and can't be bothered to mess around with washing and standing up at the same time! I've even resorted to bathing when suffering particularly bad hangovers, as showering just seemed like too much trouble.
Personally I would never contemplate buying a house without a bath, but if it only had a bath I would have to install a shower over it too.
I also agree about the creeping dampness problem. Our shower cubicle had to be gutted and re-tiled after several years, despite wiping it down after every use.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
