I bought something the other day and paid immediately, then got an email from seller asking if I wanted to pay a bit more for insured postage (as item was £80), as I'd only gone for 2nd class.

    I declined...

They had 300+ feedback, so I figured they ought to know the rules!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

If I see this in a listing it always puts me off too, as im sure its the sellers responsibility if it gets lost. Why do sellers state this, they should know the rules!

It only makes things more complicated if an item does go missing, and makes them appear as an unhelpful seller, which can put buyers off, crazy!

I don't think it makes it any more complicated. You just open a NPS claim if it is lost. If you can get it at a lower price because other bidders are deterred why not try?
