School bag ideas for a fussy 12yr old

Hiya
My daughter currently has the tigger messenger bag but has managed to wear a hole in the bottom of it. I've told her i can't afford a new one yet but i want to surprise her with a nice new one as she is doing ever so well at school.
Any suggestions she loves purple/pink although her taste seems to be going more to wards flashes of colour rather than an entirely pink/purple bag. She seems to have grown up so much in the last few months and i know that a lot of what she used to like she would turn her nose up at now so things like high school musical are all out. She is quite girly in her taste as well so sports bags arent really an option either.
I think something unusual or individual would be good but i haven't got a clue. All help appreicated :-)
Thanks for reading
Edit: I'm looking to spend about £20 but may stretch to more for a very good quality bag that will last her :-)

If she's that fussy, I'd let her choose, to be honest, rather than risk her not liking it.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

IMO, you can't go wrong with a nice retro leather-effect messenger bag, maybe an Adidas or Gola one? They do them in loads of different colours etc, try Schuh if you have one near you?:)0 -

I agree - I would have died if my mum had gone out and got me a school bag without me helping to choose it! Sorry I know you are being nice but I bet she would love a shopping trip with you on saturday to go and get a new one
She has got to carry it around with her all day, every day for atleast the rest of the school year (I assume) - would you let her choose your handbag?

Niky she isnt that fussy really she just seems to have changed so much in the last few months and ive kind of lost touch with whats the in thing for tweenagers/teenagers.
The other thing is she has suddenly developed very expesive tastes and has gone from wanting matalan and asda to henleys and superdry so if i ask her to pick you can bet she will be wanting some £60 jobby which although i feel she would deserve a treat i just cant afford that at the moment.
Elvis i will take a look thank you :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
DS1 and DSD both use Animal backpacks. They come in a range of designs/colours and would be within your budget.
(I buy them in the sales and use them to put their Xmas stockings in.)Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

i have to say im a bit of a bag addict i would say go for an animal backpack they do a range of lovely colours, they can be quite expensive but they are worth the money they are very sturdy ive packed so much in mine in the past and they hold up well the straps are comfortable also important if you are carrying say heavy books etc. plus with a backpack it evens they weight of the bag out across your back rather than messenger style which could hurt her back carrying heavy items. ebay sell them sometimes quite reasonable or their website sometimes have good bargains:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

And that's why you should let her choose

Well you'll just have to say no to that (and rightly, IMO!). Se t abudget before you go out.

I agree with the poster who said you should make it a shopping trip for the two of you.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
