I havn't tried that but I've found that Biore works quite well.

I'm probably not allowed to say this, so I'll just whisper:

I remember a thread on Old style about Milk of Magnesia being great for Black Heads. The cheapest place I found it was Poundstretcher / Instore where it was £2-something instead of £3-something (sorry to be vague)

It definitely seems to work for me.

    Good Luck

  • Biore works for me, milk of magnesia was useless. A glass of wine and a pore strip is pretty effective too :D

The first time I used pore strips they were brilliant - i am a bit of a squeezer and loved looking at all the blackheads in sort of disgusted fascination!, but next time nothing and they haven't got anything of since - maybe I have no decent blackheads anymore. They don't work on my 13 year old though.

thank you sooo much for all ur advice, but a tiny question if i may:

patch work- any particular pore srips-which did u use?
mama bear-did the milk of magnesia work as a deteront, or did u use it to get rid of blackheads?
    dora- what is a bior?
im soo sorry but im totally alien to all this, so more detail would be superb

Ooh blackheads, one of my mortal enemies!

Biore is a brand of soap and skin stuff. I have very oily skin and found this makes my skin worse.

I use Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser and the scrub, I find them both very effective. It might be worth thinking about going or a professional treatment in a salon to get as much cleared out as poss. I also use a [SIZE=-1]Comedone Spoon to get some out, but you need to be careful with it and do it really carefully.

I have been plagued by acne and blackheads forever and ever, my mum is 60 and still gets spots so i'm doomed :(

  • Lightways - Biore is a a skin and pore cleanser, stocked at Boots. I think I might try the Clean & Clear that Pug suggested as my Biore is just about finished. Thanks Pug.

Well, it definitely doesn't deter new blackheads, but seems to get rid of lots of the smaller ones, tightens the skin and leaves it smooth afterwards.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Also if they start to develop into spots, then dab on some toothpaste, leave overnight and it dries them right up

  • I've always seemed to get clogged/gunky pores on my nose. On the surface you can't really see anything and they never turn into full spots or anything. But if I squeeze a little then usually a little gunk comes out of every pore on my nose. Has anyone else experienced this? I assume it's just trapped oil/sebum?

I've used all types of daily face washes/scrubs (L'oreal Expert for Men is my current favourite). Usually they make my face feel fresh and clean (and prevent spots/blackheads) but none of them seem to clear the pores on my nose.

I also seem to get plagued by pimples on my forehead.

    Any ideas/tips?
