1st for me that is, my cars a V reg peugeot 206. It's going in this week, going to go through Martins check list, lights, tyres, wipers etc.
It'll have a good blast down the motorway to get to the test centre which I've heard is good for the emissions test?
It has had a couple of wobbles, the rev counter something decides to go nuts and it sometimes cuts out when you're not accelerating, so when you're starting up or stopped at junction - any ideas if thats linked to anything MOT related?
I'm pretty clueless but keen to learn! Do I take all my paperwork with me - last MOT cert etc?
I'll be selling it within the month so just hoping I can sell it with a clean bill of health. Any tips?

Take it to a Council Run MOT centre. They dont go looking for work...0

Don't go anywhere near KwikFit!0

Lol don't worry, its not a kwikfit! Would have had to take day off work to get to council run one sadly, then if it did fail would need another day off which I don't have
So have gone on word of mouth, fingers crossed they'll be as good to me as they have to others

Don't get caught out by the simple things, make sure your washer bottle is topped up and wiper blades are ok, you should be able to spray the screen and the wipers clear it reasonably. With someones help run through all the lights work. Any glass should be intact such as headlights or wing mirrors. Pull out all seatbelts front and back make sure they retract and lock when pulled sharply. They don't check the spare tyre any more. They don't even test rear seatbelts if a child seat is left in it as they are not allowed to tamper with them! Check the horn works.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0

Rev counter being dicky will not fail MOT. I usually take the last MOT with me which they take off my hands, not sure if they actually need it though with it all being computerised these days.0

as said in other posts do the basics before you go.
as for the cutting out issue get the throttle body and stepper motor cleaned should cure the problem and mean it will not play up when trying to sell it.0 -
