Will removing my fireplace devalue the house?

Ill remove it, wouldnt if it was old victorian house. But imho dosent look that nice. and as a 28 year old male, and if you were selling, ill rather see a huge tv there. Does it have a outside flue.?

Yeah I agree, for me personally, just to remove it - like you said it depends on who's looking at it, I'm a 24 year old single male, so for me I'd much rather have a nice TV there, but the house in general isn't that modern and would probably be aimed at families or older people - the sort of people that'd appreciate a fireplace! Not the one above of course, not sure anyone would appreciate that (although it does look nicer in person) but a fireplace of some sort.

There's even people on this thread who have said they wouldn't be a house without a fireplace! But whether there's anyone who wouldn't buy a house because it has a fireplace I'm not too sure, even an ugly one like I have Gonna look around for different fireplaces, and if I can't find a decent replacement (electric ones are apparently super innficient and useless, gas ones are ugly!) I'll rip it out, and yeah get a 50" or bigger TV in it's place ;p
