Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning... Cool and unsettled look to the day. I have work at 1pm, so that will be a novelty after 5 days of fishing, sailing and polytunnel building.
Pretty good trip out yesterday, it was cold and a bit choppy, but enjoyed it. We did'nt win the conger festival, but you should have seen the one that got away.
Church today and then work so nothing much else planned...
Hope everyone is well.... have a good day

Good Morning N9eav & all to follow.
Didn't get on here yesterday as must have slept funny and woke with bad backache and a headache so yesterday was bit of a wash out. Did manage to get to Makro and stock up with toilet roll and washing powder.
Now have absolutely loads to do today. Need to pop into town with OH this morning as he needs a new work bag. Other than that it will be washing, ironing and housework. If it stays dry may be able to tidy up the front garden which really needs it or even may get to wash the caravan.
Roast chicken with all the trimmings later, found a new farm shop yesterday and have a marrow to roast, their fruit and veg looked very good so will definately be going back there again.
Need to menu plan for this week also today - phew will be busy - have a great day all.x0 -

Diva hope you are getting better x
Sat here with DD watching Tom & Jerry - she has good taste in cartoons! Today will involve cleaning, cooking and a few auditing jobs but they can all wait as I'm enjoying the cuddles at the moment

Morning everyone.
Off to swimming soon, then come back roast the chicken and strip it, drop off some washing to my mum (she's kindly offering to do it until we replace ours). Still haven't done my accounts so NEED to fit that in today without fail.
H still sorting out the tip that is the garage so will be hanging around at home for the most part today. Did manage to do a little bit of housework but will try and squeeze some more in today.
Cool and windy here - come on spring where's the warmth we had??!
Have a good Sunday OS or not. Hugs for those that need them.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning all
Cold here today - whats all that about? This week according to the forecast we will be back to frosts overnight, am now wondering if I will EVER get my hanging baskets up this year
We have a large pond so I am a little concerned as to how the newts will cope with the drop in temperature, but I daresay they will manage - cant really think of a way to help, so I will leave mother nature sort it out
It was really wet yesterday but it is dry and sunny today so hoping to get all the washing completed so I can iron it later - oh joy!
Meal plans still need to be done for the week, and BM needs to go on today - according to DS2 we have just one bit of bread left. He is so hard done by lol!
Dogs and cats need their flea treatment, try as I might I havent found an OS solution for fleas and things that bite and more importantly prevent them coming in in the first place, so thats one thing that stays whatever!
DS1 is home later with his wet dirty washng so that will be my evening sorted - and then he will want to watch Dr Who since he missed it yesterday (I watched it though :rotfl:)
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to all those that need them - we may even get a couple of days of summer this year, although I am beginning to doubt it......

Morning all
Is everyone having a lie-in?! :rotfl: It's quiet this morning.
I woke up at 7am and dozed for half hour before giving in and waking up. I had a funny sleep, been reading too much crime fiction which worked it's way into my dreams!
WM went on and washing is now on airer on balcony to dry. It's sunny but rather windy so I've had to tether the airer to the balcony railings! :rotfl:
I'm going to have a quick shower and then go to the gym. I haven't been all week because I've been so busy so need to get back into it. After the gym I'll pop back for another shower and quick change, and then :rotfl:I fancy a bit of shopping. I need to get a cheap plastic drawer set to hold my make-up cos the one I've had for the last 8 years has finally broken. They had some in Asda few weeks back for £3 so hopefully they still have them now. So I'll get a few bits of shopping as I gotta spend £5 there to get free parking. Then I'll pop to the shopping centre and see what summery things they have for my Italy holiday at end of month
Breakfast will be scrambled egg on toast after the gym (banana beforehand), lunch is unknown at the moment, and I think I'll finally attempt a pea& mint rissotto for dinner. I've fancied it for ages but could never get risotto rice at shops and then I ran out of parmesan! But have everything in now so it needs to be made.
Have a great Sunday all

Morning Peeps
cool but bright here today, i started w*rk a bit later with it being a Sunday and it was nice to be able to set off in daylight.
DH is off fishing with the houndies this morning so they will be gone by the time i arrive home, think they are coming back tomorrow night but will ring later and check.
The washing is out and i hope to be able to cut the lawns later today so i`m keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will stay dry.
Not much else to report really apart from the fact that i freecycled absolutely everything from the kitchen yesterday and its all gone :j our back garden no longer looks like steptoes yard:rotfl:
Almost forgot! Happy Birthday MSE Martin :bdaycake:not sure whether or not you read the daily but have a lovely day all the same

Morning all, just revised and reprinted my food list for the outside of my freezer ,it is going down very slowly,(I really know how to live it up on a Sunday morning don't i
)Weather looks a bit dull and grey at the moment .I have my eldest DD coming this morning for coffee, she will change my bedding for me as well as my wonky arm isn't much good with a double duvet, and then this afternoon I will be off to see the tribe and have dinner at their house as usual.
Not much OSing today .DGS Jack (10) is hoping that Chelsea do well in football this afternoon followed next week but the FA cup final.I am in the middle of making him a Chelsea Blanket and if the manage the 'double' I will embroider something on the last square for him .I have 10 more squares to do so I have plenty of time.If they aren't so lucky then I will just put his name and the year on it for him.His brother Henry, (almost 9) will be green with envy and no doubt he will hope that I can knit a Liverpool one for him.I did a West Ham one for my eldest DGS when he was 10 and he's a grown up 19 year old now and still loves his 'blankey 'when he's feeling poorly and needs a bit of TLC.They never really grow up do they.I supposae I should really shove the dyson around the sitting room this morning ,but it hardly seems worht it as there is only me in there and it seems to stay quite tidy. Jack is off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow with his school trip for a week so I said he can borrow my big grip instead of him taking a suitcase so I'd better go and dig that out before I forget.I hope everyone has a good day and if your poorly or sad tomorrow will be a better day for you
Take care all

Morning everyone
It's a bit grey here but fairly mild, will put the washing out anyway to see what happens. It was such a glorious day here all the washing was dried, the grass was cut and DS2 and I got a bit of sunburn!
Had friends over for dinner last night which was good, but ate and drank too much. Don't have a sore head though! I tried a completely new menu last night, all things I had never made before and they were good, quasedillas for starter, lamb for the meaties and summer veg pasta for the veggies. The best bit was the dessert - chocolate souffles. I cooked them in cups and then put the cups on the saucers. They were far too big but we managed cos they were so scrummy!!
Anyway, will have to make a quiche with the left over veggies and will have left over pasta for tea (it has gone a bit dry so any suggestions welcome!).
Not much planned for today, DS2 will be going back to Edinburgh some time today and I might make a trip to Costco as I have very little washing powder left.
Enjoy your Sunday all, hope those who aren't feeling too good have a better day.0 -
Good morning all
Beautiful and sunny here, if a little chilly. Still a good day for hanging out the washing which is what I've done!
DH has just cooked a weightwatchers equivalent of a full english breakfast, it was yummy!! Knew there was a reason I married him, lol! :heart2:
Well first load of the day is out to dry, another in the WM and I have stacks of clean clothes to put away from the dining table. Will pop the BM on shortly too.
DD and I are off out roller skating later with her friend & friends mum - chance for a good gossip
And then later I'll be praying for a minor miracle regarding the football - everything crossed from 4pm.
Big ((hugs)) to those in need of them.
Have a lovely day.
