my computer is saying I have viruses and is about to crash, there is a window saying 'click ok for protection' but I dont want to click on it in case that would actually install the virus (and Im being tricked
)
the website address is www1(dot)myguard41-pre(dot)net but the 'pop up' bar is showing saying IE has stopped the website downloading files to my computer, I have run my ad-aware and that hasnt found a virus but accoring to the 'systems' page that is being displayed I have them in the hard drive, shared documents and my documents and is flashing alternately :eek:

Don't click on anything, do a full scan with malwarebytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
You need a proper resident virus scanner, not ad-aware, if you don't have one, try this
http://www.avast.com/en-gb/index!!

After you get Malwarebytes AntiMalware, you should download and install Spybot: Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html).
Update it, and run the Immunisations section. It should stop your browser from seeing these messages (you'll have to close your browsers to successfully run it but it'll warn you to).
What antivirus do you have?0 -
thanks all, ive installed malware bytes and its running a scan now - fingers crossed because my daughter has just informed me she clicked 'yes' on the virus page, hopefully that what the IE security has blocked
I understand ALOT more than I care to let on

Its highly unlikely that will work:idea:0 -
how should I close down the page that is showing it because it has the additional 'click to stop it happening dialogue box' - so far malware has found nothing

Press Ctrl and whilst holding it down press w.0

If she's infected, then no. Running MBAM will answer that, which she was already doing. But the immunisations stop the fake AV popups in browsers. I only ever see them on computers that don't have Spybot immunisations, and have never seen them on mine for that reason. Quite strange to see how websites look on other people's computers!0 -

So, don't click on it. Move on. Recognise it for what it is. Some sort of nonsense.
Incidentally, your computer is saying nothing.0 -
thanks for your help everybody, I ran the malware thing and it took an hour and 20 mins (so a good deep sweep) and there is nothing on there - phew !
It was so lucky that IE blocked it from downloading files to my computer because my daughter had pressed OK :eek::rotfl:I understand ALOT more than I care to let on
