False.
I purchased a car from a bloke from work. The car was sorn.
I picked the car up with my trailer and took it home, with my section of the log book.
When you go on the DVLA website you can buy the tax using the number on the log book, so whether you are the registered keeper or not, as long as you have the log book number you can buy tax.
Altho.....the disc will go to the old address until the DVLA receive the ammended log book, but luckily I was able to get it off the bloke at work!0 -

They couldnt believe it.
I remember that, oriental couple in a Hyundai Accent no? At least they had to pay the impounding fee.0 -
Yeah thats the one, I was p'ing myself, Paying the fee twice was probably half what the car was worth. I think it was an oldish one.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

How did you answer this question truthfully?I am the registered keeper of the vehicle. I have the V5C Registration Certificate (Log Book) and the address on it is correct. Please note, this service cannot change your address.0 -
If you ask someone at your insurer's nicely, they may be able to write a manual covernote and send it to you first class. This should come quicker than waiting for the printed policy and will be accepted by the Post Office/DVLA.0

Driving any vehicle without valid road tax renders your insurance invalid....Don't do it0

I taxed my car after buying insurance online, I just printed out the pdf they emailed and went to the post office and did it, you don't need the original document, when I have bought my tax online I have never had problems at all when driving whilst waiting for it be to delivered, but I still carried the print out to prove I have bought the tax, maybe not entirely legal but as long as you are on their computer as being taxed I don't think they will stop you.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
