Changing from pay monthly to payg - can you tranx sim card data?

On Monday I am changing from o2 contract to o2 payg. I know to ring up monday morning so they can arrange for the telephone number to be retained on the new sim card, but is there any way of transferring the data from my old sim? I tend to save everything to sim (photos, contacts, music etc) as I have had this sim for several years now and change phones more then sims but I've just realised that the new sim will be blank!
I have a samsung genio touch if that helps.
TIA

The only things you can save to a sim are numbers and about 20 texts, everything else is saved on phone memory (there's not a lot of memory on a sim).
Just transfer everything to the phone, when you get your new sim put it in the old phone and transfer it all back. Job done. . .0 -
The only way to transfer data between sims, as far as I know, is via a phone. You'll have to transfer the data to the phone memory and then to your new sim when you get it. Depending on your phone, you might have to do each item individually. You'll have to do it though, because once you transfer your number over, your old sim will be dead.
However, are you sure you have ALL that on your sim and not the phone memory? I thought you could only save contacts on a sim. Best way to test - stick in your new payg sim (before you go through the number transfer business) and see if all that stuff is still on your phone.0 -
You can only save contacts to a sim, I think you are getting confused with a memory card0

I think I am getting it confused lol - I just sat here and panicked yesterday when I thought about my numbers etc - I have some sentimental texts on my sim but I will copy those to the phone and copy back again and save my contacts back to the phone but yes, my pics etc are safe -
Thanks for your repies, no excuses for me being so stupid just that sometimes I am!0
