McDonalds pay?

You would normally get a small pay rise when you pass your probation period, then I think it was every second six month review you would be eligible for another rise. By then you would probably be a manager though (lol), some people at my old store who started after me are non shift running managers now.
Not sure it's worth a 45 mile drive though...isn't there something like a call centre that's closer, they normally pay better.0 -
Surely claiming benefits would be better for you financially and pyschologically?? :S0

There is nothing better for your self esteem than being on benefits, I'm sure the thousands of people who have lost their job during the recession and can't find work will agree.... and those young people who can't even get their first job will agree too....0 -
I remember you once saying where you live (same place as me
), and the nearest McDonalds to us is about 17 miles away - have you forgotten aboot Peterheid.
Unless you've moved of course.
Nope, still here! Its just that my car is pretty clapped out and its easier to get a bus to Aberdeen than to THAT roundabout in Peterheid if the car dies:rotfl:
Oh, and TWO local jobs in our Jobcentre says i might have to go further afield PMSL!!Rothschild wrote: »Surely claiming benefits would be better for you financially and pyschologically?? :S
As i said, i currently clean toilets for a living. Im a single parent. You cant scare me

Just a thought - my son is applying for an apprenticeship at Score (same roundabout!) He can't drive yet. He was going to buy a monthly bus pass. Take the bus to Peterhead and then catch the Aberdeen one to get to the roundabout. I know it's a bit of faffing about. He was going to do a trial run, if he gets a place. Not sure how it works out, and how expensive the bus pass would be (my guess is probably quite a bit
)
Isn't it rubbish when it's easier to go 45 miles than it is to go 17!0 -

Aye, the pros and cons of living in the land that time forgot!! :rotfl:
I used to have a concession card for the bus (im disabled, not a junkie
) but i never renewed it last year coz i have the car now. Maybe have to go and see if i can renew it then i can work anywhere i like
I NEED a change of scenery before i go loopy!! 0 -
Oh of course knowing you are leeching off the state and the rest of the working society is better psychologically for you than having dignity and working for the money you get. I detest Mcdonalds and all they stand for but if that was the only job I could get rather than leech of society then I would swallow my pride and keep both my dignity and self esteem by working for them until I found better.Rothschild wrote: »Surely claiming benefits would be better for you financially and pyschologically?? :SApproach her; adore her. not necessarily. yes there may be ones who's self esteem will go up due to not having the stress of a job and having time to do the things they enjoy. but there are also ones who's self esteem goes down when out of workMartin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.0 -

Exactly! :T
Why would working in a minimum wage, dirty greasy job where everyone else in society looks down on you if you ever tell them what your job is, and getting a ridiculously low amount of money for doing that job,
help anyone pyschologically??! :eek::huh:
Wheras you could choose to instead claim what you are legally entitled to as a British citizen who is liable to pay tax.
(Which in my area of London would be roughly £2,000 per month for a single mum with 1 kid)
And then spend your days looking and applying for jobs that give you a decent career that you would want to have,
and which pay a decent amount of money.

Because these people who you look down upon are paying for your existance. How's that?0
