Best sim card for Turkey?

Hi I have friends in Turkey, and visit them fairly regularly.
Until now I have used my O2 mobile for texting (free to send and receive on the 4 for 1 deal), and skype for phone calls.
My contract with O2 ended and I've changed to a variation of the simplicity deal - 400 mins, 600 texts, no handset, free O2 to O2 calls (which actually doesn.t really matter to me) and keep the 4 for 1 texts deal (so 150 free texts when abroad) for £15 a month, but there are probably better deals around for UK use only.
I'm now considering having a separate sim for when I am abroad - maybe an international sim or even a Turkish sim.
If anyone have any experience of using foreign sims, or can point me in the right direction, I;d be grateful.
Thanks
