tax credit award notice

we renewed 2 weeks ago how long does it take to get the award notice
I am going crazy waiting for my Tax Credit Award Notice as I need it to apply for School Clothing Grant/Free School Meals/Educational Maintenance Allowance; these are all new claims and they won't accept estimated or last years award notices. I have been claiming Tax Credits for 5 years without any problems or glitches. I renewed my claim on the 18th May 2010 over the phone to the normal number but my claim still HAS NOT BEEN PROCESSED. I have phoned 3 times and I speak to a different person who gives the same answers;
"Your claim may not be processed for several more weeks."
"There is nothing that can be done to speed up this process"
I then ask "What is the problem this year?" and am told "I am not aware of any problem."
I ask "Are there many other people like me waiting a ridiculously long time for their claim to be updated?" and am told "I have no information about that."
I am normally quite good at dealing with officialdom but I am so frustrated and worried about missing the deadlines for applying for the School clothing Grant and the EMA. :wall:0 -

i renewed my tax credit in april and still have not had my new award notice, as i need it to do my sons ema, i rang 2 wks ago and was told they are sending them all out soon. then on speaking to friends of mine they have already got theirs, i rung again to be told that my award notice has not been sent out yet as tax credit are investegating all claims they pay over 7 grand and when they are happy with figures i sent in this year and year before then and only then they will sent out my award notice. he did say its not only my claim its every one they pay out over that amount fro some reason.I am going crazy waiting for my Tax Credit Award Notice as I need it to apply for School Clothing Grant/Free School Meals/Educational Maintenance Allowance; these are all new claims and they won't accept estimated or last years award notices. They are only saying that because your renewal will not have been processed and may be while before you get your award notice.
local education authority has their own number to call up to ask for this information about free school meals etc so they do not need to see the award notice. You can send in your p60 for ema so you do not need to award notice for that.
Changes of circumstances take different times to processed but once processed award notices take up to 2weeks to be sent out. So if you notice different in your payments letter will follow within 2weeks0 -
help im still waiting for award notice cant get in touch with tax credit helpline too busy i need notice for college so i can get help with cost etc0
