Some folk are so quick too judge. Others appear to be too quick at other things. Shame for the kids really.

See if any of your local organisations can help. Our local Lions club have a caravan and provide a week's holiday for needy people.

Also you could try Gingerbread, the organisation for single parents. They do trips I think, although I don't know what the cost is.

my £70 would probably get me a travelodge for a couple of nights near a coastal resort...if you ve fine weather bbq on beach at lunch with meat from local butchers...and eat out in the evening..or prepare heathy salads with cold chicken bbq earlier...bring a kite, bat, ball and bucket and spade and book to read....bliss

For another £15 or so each, your best bet would be to wait until around October or so and you'd probably be able to go to Spain. It wouldn't be too hot, but Teletext Holidays have some cracking deals at that time of year.

Look out in the daily papers (& elsewhere on this site) for the cheapo deals at holiday centres like Butlins, Pontins & Haven. The weekend or midweek breaks cover a whole chalet/caravan, often have most or all of the meals thrown in (or, if you've self-catering facilities you can cook cheap meals) & there's tons of free activities for the kids to keep them busy. And many offer daytime clubs or childminding facilities so you can grab a few hours to relax on your own if you need a break.

Good luck in finding something to give you all a lovely time.
