No Government.

You need a Government as there are lots of things nobody else can do effectively. Examples are millitary, street lighting and diplomacy. That's why you need me to act on your behalf as an avuncular benevolent ruler.0

Viva El Generali!
We really don't need a government as such. Just parliament to rubber stamp the legality of the armed forces and a majority to approve a budget of some sort.
Lacking a government may even be a good thing, stops the thieving, lying scumbags from being too helpful to their friends in high or low places through 3 line whips."Gold is the money of kings; silver is the money of gentlemen; barter is the money of peasants; but debt is the money of slaves." - Norm Franz0 -
It's obvious that we'll see a rerun of 1974 (or possibly something like the Weimar Republic). Certainly economic stagflation is coming, 2nd banking crisis, IMF called in, austerity, 2nd election within 18 months.0

I would have a 'People's Committee' to act as the voice of the people and to pass legislation.
This lot should do it. They strive for world peace, children and the environment, the three main aims of my Governorship.

I think the ''diplomacy'' statemanship aspect of government has been some what ignored. We wer discussing this as a family yesterday and one of us raised the issue that the tv debates, while limitied in their scope and purpose, could infat indicate just how slimily suductive a person could or could not be in a difficult diplomatic situation.
It is the ''diplomacy'' aspect of government that I think some of the tipped current cabinet would suffer on in a leadership roll, not as much the business to do with here.0 -

Presumably the PM, speaker, Deputy Speaker and Chancellor get paid as they're still in their jobs and the others will get paid as backbenchers as that is what they are. I'm just guessing though.0
