We currently have no Government. The water's running, the electrics on, internet works and there's no Political bickering on tv.
Do we really need one?

The point is, I guess, we need one for the things that are going wrong, not for the things that go right....
nice if it were smaller, cheaper and generally ''lesser'' though.0 -

O.K. I confess, I wasn't being serious.
Although I am kinda liking not having someone I've never met claim to act on my behalf.
Well for the moment anyway.0 -

And exactly the same could be said for the banks and their magic money making machine."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

S'funny, I could have sworn it's the govt that made things go wrong.

Labour rule nothing. They're in dissaray and deals are being negotiated to oust Gordon as we speak. My guess is anyone with leadership ambitions is far too busy trying to win favour with the labour ranks while trying to cosy upto the lib dems. Within the Labour party my guess is it's dog eat dog about now.0 -

Actually, I believe that we do need a government, if only to ensure that the armed forces can continue to exist legally. Part of the Army Act has to be passed in both Houses every year to continue the legitimacy of the armed forces. It was a clause inserted to prevent a sovereign using the army against, and dispensing with, Parliament.
Without the Act being reiterated every year, the armed forces would cease to be a legitimate entity - and they wouldn't get paid!!!0
