Well done - what are you going to buy with your 50p? I would try going around some charity shops if you can to see if you can get something which you think might make a profit.

I'm going to list my Narnia game on Ebay tonight for 3 days and see what happens. :D

    Good luck everyone.

Not sure yet - will check out charity shops tomorrow if I can - if not it will have to be the car boot bank holiday weekend. Any suggestions for likely things to look for? (preferably that sell for 100s on eBay! :D )

I always look out for things like named ornaments such as Cherished Teddies, Lilliput Lane, Leonardo etc. Me To You bears are also good ones. I got one from a charity shop once for 99p and sold it on Ebay for over £5.

A woman I work with says that knitting patterns go really well on Ebay too  - she often buys them from charity shops for 20p and then sells them on for a few quid.

Hope this gets the ideas rolling for you :D
  • Just an update - spent 25p of my 50p on a children's book from the charity shop - just sold it on eBay for a pound. The other 25p I spent on a brewery collectable - will see if it sells. But at the moment I am 75p in profit! Could be a long haul to afford Christmas! :D

Ah but it should be a snowball effect, by next week you might have £10 over budget and then the world is your oyster!

Sounds like a fantastic idea, I'll have to see what I can do to join this challenge, might be something for my 15 year old son to do, he seems to think it is now ok to go to bed at 3am and sleep all day!

Well....my lovely scruffy ted is sold last week.....I did a carboot and attached a "life-history" story to him and asked for offers, mentioning it was going towards paying for Christmas. A lovely lady thought it was too cute and gave me £3 for him....not a bad return on 50p!:D

I've since spent that £3 on a piece of crystal jewellery I found on ebay....it finished at a really stupid time so I got lucky - unlike the seller - I was so tempted to send her more money.

I'm doing a jewellery party next week.....fingers crossed!
