Nochex v Paypal?

Hey,

I've been looking around for alternative methods of online payments for my customers, and came across one called Nochex. They seem like a good choice, and they due charge fees but not as high as Paypal.

I just wanted to know if anyone has used this, and if so would you recommend them?

Cheers, FG.

  • I have used this with no problem and have an account with them.
The only thing is on eBay most buyers only pay by Paypal and don't trust anything else.
This applies to sellers as well, although some are more flexible.
So you can get it if you want but not many of your transactions will be through it.
If freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Could I not offer it as an alternative? Like I have Paypal and Postal Orders, but also have Nochex as a 3rd choice.
  • Yes you can offer it as another payment choice by all means.
Just be aware that not many people will use it thats all

I used to offer nochex on all my auctions but in a couple of years probably only ever had 2 people use it. That made it expensive for me as I never built up a large enough balance to withdraw for free so had to pay to get my money out on top of the fees I had already paid.

As there was no real advantage to offering nochex as an option I closed my account.

    Soo

i use nochex for my large value auctions - some have been £500+

i'd never in a million years dream of doing that with paypal, I stick to my ~32 quid limit with that, though, of late i've been creeping towards ~50 for well established, high feedback buyers

I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

  • I find it ironic that many people on eBay will not trust anything apart from Paypal for their transactions but will happily send their phones to Nigeria thinking they will be covered!
I think they are just blinded by the 'Seller Protection' Paypal offer without reading the T&C until they get scammed and bitterly complain about it on the eBay forums only to find they don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to getting their money back.

I thought ebay had decided Nochex was no longer an approved method of payment?
