Hi,
I am thinking of getting the htc desire with orange on panther35 for £30 month. phone for free plus hopefully £80 quidco.
I have always been with vodafone and currently on a rolling 1 month contract with them.
just wondering if there are any particular issues I shoud be aware of and also wondering if it will be easy to keep my existing number.
bit of a beginner with all of this so appreciate any help you can give.

    Hi again,

I am also thinking about orange but the fair usage policy on their internet is only 750mb. As for keeping your number, just phone up vodafone and ask for a PAC code. You can order your phone off orange before hand or after. Anyway once you have that code just ring up orange customer services saying that youve ordered the phone and want to keep your number and give them the PAC code. 24-48 hours later job done :D

I am with Orange and Vodafone.

Before taking out any contract with any network, the one thing you need to do is check the coverage. Do that first of all by looking on the web for your pot code and coverage Then try out the chosen network by begging, borrowing or stealing ( no, cross the last one out) a phone/sim on that network and try out the reception in your house and anywhere else that you normally will require reception.

This forum is littered with MSE members who were seduced with the shiny phone bargain but find it is useless as they can't get a signal.

The 14 day Distance Selling rule. People think they have 14 days to try it and see. Not so. Networks and retailers t&c state that if you use the phone or make a call, you are deemed to have accepted the deal and it is then a nightmare to get out of the deal. Again, just read the forum.

This advice applies to any network, not just Orange. It may seem obvious, but there are too many threads that would indicate that it is not obvious to everyone.

    Good luck

just phoned orange to ask about fair usage policy, orange just offered me free htc desire black - 600mins - unlimited texts - 60 free picture messages - unlimited internet (750mb fair use but wont be charged if i go over) £25pm

If you ring up (ok you loose quidco) and say that your going to see if your current provider can do a better deal they first offered me free first month, when i turned that down they offered £25pm
