They haven't been called 'married quarters' for about 10 years.
Service Family Accommodation is available to personnel who have a spouse or civil partner.
There are a few exceptions to this rule, but nothing to assist your sis.

Also single personnel in private housing can qualify for some moving expenses.
I cba looking up the references, tell your sisters OH to get of his @rse and find out the information he needs, if he really wants to move in with her.
Officially they are called SFA but in reality no-one calls them that. They'll always be called 'quarters'.Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680 -
They have to get married. They can't have one just by having children.
The service person qualifies for a quarter if they have 'residence' of their child (i.e. a single parent), but the unmarried partner can't live there. A nanny/au pair can. Another anomaly of the system!
Getting married is by far the easiest way to get a house/flat (and death in service benefit) from the MOD - and then they wonder why the divorce stats are so high? (Slightly tongue in cheek - I'm well aware of many others issues that make service marriages difficult!).

Yes, thats what i said. THEY can't have one TOGETHER purely by having a child.
Nor is the other parent allowed to be 'employed' as the au pair.0 -
Are you aware that all Service personnel have "Key Worker" status and this will help you when applying to a HA?0

You might ask him to get in touch with the Joint Service Housing Advice Office (JSHAO) at Wilton. The staff there can advice on the various housing options, including the various home ownership/shared equity schemes and the recently announced AFHOS (Armed Forces Housing Options Scheme, from memory). DOn't know the number but he should be able to find it from the MOD website. JSHAO does have a page on the site.I am the MOD’s policy lead for financial capability and have specific permission from Martin to post on these boards to try and help Armed Forces personnel and their families. I have been authorised by MOD to be its representative on the Armed Forces Forum of MSE.0
