    Hi Geez,

The Pipex Brand was acquired by TalkTalk during the course of 2009. Although this has been rebranded as TT the customer base is still maintained on a separate billing system.

WIth any LLU provider however you can move off the service by requesting a return to donor to BT. This will remove your line from the LLU equipment and alow you to transfer to any service provider.

    Regards

    My Scenario.

All my family became homecall customers years ago.
About 18 months ago I moved to o2 broadband but continued as a homecall/pipex landline customer. Then a month ago when o2 started their home phone service I switched over to o2 phone as well.

Recently my aunt who lives a few miles away asked me to go round to look at her computer as it was "slow". Turned out it was the internet connection & not the computer that was slow. Speed tests showed she was getting around 512 speeds and not the 8 meg speeds she had been getting for the past few years. I tested it on different days and times to check it wasn't a one off but the max download speed I got was something like 30kb/s (not the 600 kb/s she previously got)

She decided to move to her phone & bb to o2 as well. Then when we contacted o2 we discovered we couldn't move to anyone but BT as the line was not on the BT exchange. A call to TT revealed she was changed over to their MPF service. (without asking or any notification)

    I then spotted this thread.

I just called TT asking them to do what the TT rep said (quoted above) and TT CS said TT can't do it & that BT have to do it. The TT CS said technically what my aunt said was correct but there was nothing he could do and that BT had to do it.

Can you (The TT rep.) confirm whether it is TT or BT that my aunt needs to call to do the return to donor?

Also as she isn't LLU but MPF does that makes a difference?

    Thanks.

    Hi Rowla

Probably a bit late now - but I just found this open question which (unsuprisingly TT rep chose to ignore). The line is switched back by BT - although they will probably tie you into an 18-month contract. I'm now Pipex/Talk Talk free - and advise EVERYONE I know to avoid them like the plague!

TT Rep - if you are reading this...your company sucks!

You can easilly knock another two years off that, some time during 2006!
How do i know, well lets just say its still in the same group of companies when you stole my phone line from Tiscali to Pipex Homecall late Dec 2006.
As above i had same treatment making it it impossible to move, add to that the ficticious billing £80+ first month, similar the next month which i wouldnt pay until correct figure was billed, debt collectors etc why should i along with the serious grief and 10 of hours wasted time, i didnt sign up for crap.
Still overcharged me £30 at the end of 3 months but what a relief getting away from that group.

    .

didn't TalkTalk only buy Tiscali out last year? so in 2006 Tiscali were completely unrelated to TalkTalk
