    When the libdems power shared in Scotland - their big policies that got passed were;
    - Free personal healthcare for the elderly
    - Free Tuition fees

And seeing as he has already said the Tories should get first dibs he has acknowledged that DC won in the eyes of the people.

Word for the day: Zugzwang. A chess term, for making what is effectively a nothing move, that forces the other player to move first, and thus realigns the game theory mechanics.

You'll probably find a better definition here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zugzwang

I've always wanted an opportunity to use it. Hurrah.

That is quite laughable, when you consider how completely disconnected from the populace and reality GB is. To substantiate this I offer you "Bigotgate".
the poster was claiming that David Cameron was honest.

my reply was that if he was honest or even come across as honest or even that he was the saviour of the country and all of these grand solutions to fix the country - why didn't he win the election with a landslide majority?

nothing to do with Gordon brown but good deflection from the point about David Cameron's lack of honesty.

Anyway, please stop canvassing & spinning and let the horse trading begin in earnest.
no need to canvass or spin

it's getting to the point that the only people that are accusing others of spin or canvassing are the tory cult who have done very badly in this election.

with the worst recession since the 2nd world war the tories can't even get an overall majority. that's tragic for the tory party. just tragic to see how distant they are from people.

and btw - Brown wasn't what the quote that the poster was talking about. Brown is what he is, he was never the right person to become prime minister.

That must be the case for 99% of the electorate.

Most of manifesto policy is pipe dream rather than realistic objectives.

For most non active political people it boils down to a few key issues.

Is that the same as when NC said he wouldn't do a deal with Labour if GB was still the boss......

i'd love to see that voted through with DC as PM. just how desperate is he for a prime ministerial title? :rotfl:

Not as desperate as GB who needs the lib dems AND 11 other seats to win a majority

so you can bet that Labour will now lie through their teeth to each party to get their votes.
