Simply way to solve the garb about "driving style". Ask them to lend you another Fox of a week or two and its her "driving style" then the loan car should develop the same problems in theory!
I'd contact VW UK if you are unhappy with the way the problems have been dealt with.

At a guess, they think she's driving in too high a gear.... Which to be fair to them, is extremely common, lots of people had trouble with this when 16valve motors started to hit the market.
