Apparently, according to Ed Miliband we've all voted for electoral reform in this election. I didn't know I was voting for that, did you? Was that in the Labour manifesto? Were all the Labour ministers talking about this over the last few weeks?0

I'm just a bit lost here where the Electoral Commission is concerned.
It's *not* saying challenges to results are inevitable (because it doesn't know the outcome yet.)
It is saying that "petitions can be filed" in constituencies where "there are grounds to do so".
Well, I can guess what the grounds might be. But "petitions"?
Is that down to disgruntled voters to organise? Or a disgruntled Party?
And who the heck, exactly, is being. . . Petitioned?0 -
The exit poll showing surprisingly few Lib Dem seats may have been right. Both Conservatives and Labour seem to be getting their vote out which has squeezed the Lib Dems.

Well it now appears that's very much what Labour was campaigning on, the electoral reform that's been at the top of their agenda for the past 13 years.
The fact that folks like you and I and maybe several million others didn't realise that just goes to show why we're a stupid electorate which deserves to be locked out of polling stations everywhere.

Anyone else getting the impression these results are a little better for Labour than expected? Labour have narrowly kept Telford and Exeter with 5-6% swings to the Conservatives when 8-9% would have won 'em for Dave. Also, Tories are not getting any traction in Wales/Scotland and they're likely to lose some English seats narrowly because of the UKIP vote."The state is the great fiction by which everybody seeks to live at the expense of everybody else." -- Frederic Bastiat, 1848.0
