Out of interest, how many people were there working at the various polling stations we went to today? The polling station I went to had two sections, each with two people working in. There was no queue at the time I arrived and we had no local elections.

Two on the front desk doing the paperwork and one explaining which box was for which ballot. Two on the front table is the norm for us.

I predict an overall Tory majority. And we really do need a change. Can you imagine where we'd be after another five years of Brown?

Just reading the newsfeeds on Kingswood. Said that the swing to Tories to win Kingswood would need to be 6.88%. For Conservatives to win a majority overall the swing would need to be 6.9% which is why it is such a benchmark.

Two desks, two bods on each. The polling station also had a lowered voting booth for disabled voters which is a first iirc.

    A good result there, then?

Don't know really. Peter Robinson is leader of the DUP so kept his party on side for power sharing with Sinn Fein so him losing political authority is not great news for power sharing. However, he still has his seat in the Assembly (I think). Power sharing is hopefully too entrenched now. I've always had a soft spot for the Alliance though, seeing as how they are about 40 years ahead of everyone else when it comes to peace and non sectarianism(although they're catching up mercifully.)

Labour are showing a massive loss on every one of the seats they have kept.....

This exit poll looks like it is way off btw. How can they keep getting it so wrong?
