I have an old 6230 and can't remember what network it was on. Have tried o2 but does'nt accept sim card. Is there any way of finding out what network the phone is on?

Thanks

1 down - 3 to go if it's that old..

Find a friend on Orange, Voda and T-Mob and de-sim them for a couple of minutes.

Thanks have posted already and awaiting reply, however to enable unlock, "current network for phone is required" so 'm back to square one.

I don't think you have to, here is a reply to someone on Orange.

Insert a WRONG sim card, one that doesn’t work in the phone. When it says phone restricted, press
‘undo’. It will ask you for a restriction code and input the code into the box on the screen.

Thanks, but problem is when you originally get the code it asks you for the phone's network then generates the codes for input to phone, problem is I said phone was on o2 so it gave codes for that networks unlocking, obviously that did'nt work which means I could try using orange, voda t but you only get 5 tries.

The password the phone is asking for could be the sim lock? which means the phone will ask for a password when any sim (reglardless of network) is inserted into your phone. It does not ask for the password when you use your original sim card that was used with the phone.
If you have the manual lying about somewhere this password will be in the phone unless you changed it.
