Fonesafe - Like For Like

So i recently had a G1 that died due to some idiots beer on a night out. Fonesafe accepted my claim and then told me that the G1 is no longer being made and they would try to repair mine.

As a replacement they offered me a HTC Hero (G2), Nokia 5800 and a E71. The G2 is ok but i want a keyboard. The 5800 is crap. E71 is a nokia like a blackberry. I said no to all of them and that id take an Blackberry 8900

I told them i was saving them money, but it wasnt one of the options and couldnt get "authorised" when asked first time. So ive asked for a referal to a manager whos calling back in the next 2 days.

The fonesafe t&cs are pretty vague, and I dont think any of the phones match the function of the G1. Having a touchscreen and qwerty. So i thought a cheaper BBerry would be a good option. Apparently not.

What grounds to I have to stand on. or am i literally at their mercy?

I lost mine yesterday got the same problem there customer service is rude as **** ! They offered me out some money around £200 or the same phone options as you were given which I didnt want any of and the ppl in customer service kept pointing out that its not an opportunity to upgrade and i kept pointing out that none of the phones matched in spec so hardly like for like! They are going to get a manager to ring me back in 48h and I thought I was suppose to get a replacement phone within 48h. The worst thing is ive had the insurance since 2006 and the sneaky beggars have gradually been putting it up sending out no paperwork and in when it came down to me making a claim they said I was still on the old t&c's and id have pay for a new simcard and my access was higher even though they charge me the new rates ! As soon as its sorted im cancelling .

T-mobile in the last few years has gone seriously downhill dont understand how its my problem that they dont stock he g1 I even offered to source one for them the lady then said to me "oh we dont pay for purchases from places like ebay" !:mad:

Personally I think that you should hold your ground I am going to as if they cant match the phone they shouldn't be taking my money every month I just hope they dont offer me that lg android one !

Cheers, I will keep you informed if they ring me back. I dont understand, the G2 is a more expensive phone?! The BBerry 8900 is 6 months older, they are just being stupid. Id bet my house on they ring back and are "out of stock" of the 8900 which is such BS as when i asked 1st time for one they said i was denied but could be referred. Not they were out of stock. And that was 2 days ago.

I just dont understand why they wont give me a cheaper phone?!

They never gave me a cash alternative. And i got a different line from every person I spoke 2. One guy went on google and we were looking up android phones but a woman i spoke 2 was just rude and adamant that I could only choose from those 3 phones. Even though the first guy say I could have a very crappy blackberry.

I said id pay extra to get the phone I want, a higher excess but they said now. Its total bull, they want you to have the crappy phone so they make more money. If I dont get a 8900, 9700 or a better android phone (a comparable one is Motorola Milestone) im not budging.

A G2 has no keyboard, runs on android 1.5 and no androind 1.6

So i think im being reasonable.

Well fonesafe never called back, im going to ring tomorrow and I dont intend on hanging up until I have a blackberry 8900 or 9700 on the way!

Any news from you R4xKxx?
