Signing up for sky - how can i get the best deal?

Hi all,
we want to get Sky after being on Freeview for the past 4 years or so. At the moment all we really want is the basic package with an extra 1 or 2 of the variety packs.
At the moment they have the offer on of the free Sky+ box so i want to take advantage of this. However, quidco only have £10 cashback on the Sky+ box alone without HD. Does anyone know of any offers on or how to get some money off? I have tried searching but many codes seem to be for returning customers.
Thanks

There was a booth in my local town centre with a deal for a free Sky+HD box for new customers. I signed up for the 3 packs for £20pm and got free installation if I took one of the Sports or Movies Packs (which are £9 or £8pm respectively). You can cancel the Sports/Movies after a month it effectively gives you installation for £16 instead of the usual £30 and some sports/movies for a couple of months.
I was told that this offer could be withdrawn very soon as it was a purge for the World Cup mostly to plug their HD content.
Might be worth a trip to your local booth!

Hi
Free hd+ Install when you take out the Hd package which you can cancel after a month
Sorry to bump up an old post but tried to cancel via email and got this reply:
Dear Mrs CUSTOMER
Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.
As per the previous email. you have taken out Sky as a 12 month contract, this includes subscribing to at least the minimum viewing package and HD for this time. If you wish to cancel the HD Mix within the 12 months this will cause an early termination fee to be added to your account. This amount would be £10 times the number of months left on your subscription. If you do not wish to incur these charges you can cancel the HD Mix from 11/05/11. This information can be found in the terms and conditions that were sent out to you when you first joined Sky.
Whilst I realise that you may be disappointed with the decision made, I hope that you can appreciate our position on this matter.
Kind regards
Sky Help Centre

This is perfectly correct and SKY make it very clear in the deals that they advertise widely - ok, albeit in the small print but who in their right mind who doesn't read these?0 -
In hindsight makes sense, but from other posters who have been able to cancel and a few friends of mine i wonder why i am being singled out0
