We have a Go Ape about 1 hour away and it is £20 each and 1 adult has to go with a child, which is a lot of money if the 12 year old loses his nerve (you wouldn't get me on in the first place, I don't do heights - nutters, haha!). There is a version of this in Trentham Estate which we may check out if we go.

    Thanks again, FiFi :)

there is a nice caravan site on the A57 about 2 miles off J21 of the M6, close to Lymm and Warburton bridge, its called Holly Bank, I've not stayed there but it looks okay. You could go to Lymm Dam and walk around, take bikes down the trans pennine trail, walk along the canal. Warrington or Trafford centre are close if you fancy shops and its not too far from Camelot as someone mentioned.

Oh and tatton park (national trust) is quite close
  • Just a wee update, Thanks again for all the help.
We ended up going to Blists Hill Victorian town and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it, we even got our picture taken in Victorian costume.

I thought I could do Blists Hill and Enginuity on the Saturday but Blists Hill took up all day, so we went to Enginuity on the Sunday and again everyone enjoyed it, what a great interactive science museum.

We used Tesco clubcard vouchers as it would have cost at least £50 for the 4 of us at Blists Hill but the pass for all 10 Ironbridge museums cost £59 for a family of 4, they even let us use the vouchers for a family pass as sometimes when you use CC vouchers you have to buy 4 individual passes.
I now have to plan a trip back to Ironbridge so as we can use the pass again, but at least it is valid for a year.
We stayed at a Caravan Club site called High Onn, which wasn't too far from the M6 and only cost £12 a night, it was a lovely site in a rural location which is acccessed by single track country roads.

    Thanks again, FiFi:)

Glad you had a good time. We did Blists Hill a couple of years back and loved it though there was a lot of building work ongoing, especially down at the bottom end. Is it totally finished now? We always said we'd go back when it was done as it's only about an hour from us. We'll probably get a pass so thanks for the recommendation about Enginuity...would it also be suitable if we went alone without kids, or is it really a kids place? The actual Ironbridge museum is good if you haven't already done that - right down by the river and a short walk from the bridge itself
