We are going to the Maldives! Can't wait!! :)

we went to thomas cook last night to arrange our honeymoon in the maldives, and came out looking to book 2 weeks in SHRI LANKA!!!

we realised we would get more for our budget there, than in the maldives, but that isnt going to stop me going in the future (near future before it dissapears :() and the fact my wife to be cannot sunbathe for more than 5 minutes without getting bored! lol!

shri lanka looks amazing, and also not far from the maldives! thomas cook offer tailor made trips with personal tour guides!

we are getting married on jun 11th 2011!

Aye the whole 'its going to sink soon' thing did weigh on my mind - plus I've always had in my head that a water villa is where I'll go on my honeymoon - so whenever I wobbled and considered a more 'sensible' option my OH told me we were going to the ideal place and it was the one time not to compromise :D

    Oooh that place looks LUSH!!

We were originally going to do Thailand, but some friends of ours who live in Oz are getting married a few months after us, and we really want to be at their wedding so we've changed our plans and will have a "mini moon" somewhere in the UK or Europe for a few days after our wedding, and then go out to Queensland for their ceremony and have our "proper" honeymoon in the Whitsunday Islands as we only spent a day there last time we visited and could have easily stayed forever!

Haven't even booked our venue yet, but SO excited for the honeymoon already!! It'll be my third trip to Aus in 5 years!

Ah, the Whitsundays are lovely - that's where my OH proposed to me in December :D
I reccomend going on the Kiana Boat trip to the outer reef - it was a 3 day / 2 night trip on a small boat (ideal if you want to avoid the booze cruisers). It was a bit more expensive than some of the others, but worth every penny :)

Awww my OH proposed a few days after the Whitsundays, under the Sydney Harbour Bridge!! We must have been there at about the same time - think we did the Whitsundays on 5th December.

The boat trip idea sounds fab - we only did a daytrip from Airlie Beach last time and visited Daydream Island, Whitehaven Beach and Hook Island.

They were setting up a wedding on Daydream whilst we were there - it looked STUNNING... Ceremony under a pagoda looking out over the sea and an outdoor reception. You'd have to be very brave to try something like that in the UK :rotfl:

We are thinking of two weeks away.

Around a week in Las Vegas (my other half always wanted to go away before he was 30 so I used it as leverage to pin him down to a date for the wedding "lets go to vegas for our honeymoon and our 30th birthdays")
For the other week I'd like nothing more than beach/watersports/chilling out - no idea where yet though. Any ideas?

If you're spending a week in Vegas, a good side trip is San Francisco - only 90min flight, really easy to get around and you can see a lot in 2 days!

For a beach style hol in the US, id recommend Florida - some lovely beaches, esp around the gulf of mexico. Ive been to California and tbh it wasnt my cup of tea but there are some nice beaches there also. Miami and Florida Keys would be my choice and the flight home is only 8hrs! :)
    £2 Savers Club #156! :)
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j
