Ages ago I considered applying (to go on the candiidate list)for Edinburgh West.

Why? I am genuinely interested. I am intrigued about people who go on the list or up for election who have no previous ties to the area, or whom don't even live there. Did you live or study there? One of our candidates on my ballot paper was someone who lives 60miles away!!!

Looks like the Greens might well win Brighton Pavilion:T

Edit -BBC showing 1 green seat

That doesn't surprise me too much, that area strikes me as being the Green's target demographic. I don't mean anything other than the sort of bohemian, earthly image the area has. I have voted Green once or twice in my time, but there is no point in national elections. I did in the last Scottish government elections as we have PR.

Thriftlady, I've been thinking for a while that your siggy should be, "Blogging makes me happy" That would make me smile every time I read it. Hope you don't mind me saying.

Well without going into personal details:o Whilst I had no ties to Edinburgh itself I was "involved" with the local area.

Its complicated to be honest. Will explain when I have cleared my PM's(2045 looking good!)

;) OK. Well as long as you were involved locally. It's these career politicians who haven't previously been involved in their locale that bother me. They just want to be an MP, or councillor, and I feel that they should have been locally involved before they can really understand the people they are representing.

    Ooh good idea Jackie.

Think I was premature with Brighton's result-don't think it's in yet. I voted Green for the local election-think they can actually do something useful for the community, plus no lib-dem candidate inthe local.

I was always happy to see a Green standing against me-I always beat the Green candidate.

I am not surprised by Brighton. I love that place!
