nikki, really sorry to here about your situation. I used to be the spender, and it was so hard to give up control. Eventually I saw the light and now get all my wages into my oh's account and we budget everything. but it still hurts sometimes as I still get the urge to spend and I feel as if I'm being punished as it's my money. But the fact is, my money is not my money but money for my family and they are what really matters more than my material desires.
Now, even after all my debt and heartache I've caused due to my spending I still find it difficult to not have money in my pocket and still want what I know I can't have but luckily I'm able to control it a little better. And even sometimes, when I do get money for myself (birthday's etc) I am starting to feel a little guilty about spending it on myself.
I just hope your OH will see their mistakes before it's too lateWould like to: Retire at 54. 19yrs .Clear mortgage by 50. 16yrs. Clear Secured debts by 43. 8yrs.Clear Unsecured debt by 39. 4yrs. Nikki.... we have a jiont account but also our own individual accounts. All the bills etc get paid out of the joint, then we each get 'pocket money' for the month (£80 each) to spend as we see fit. That way OH still has control over some of his own money but if he spends it all in one week then its toughand the bills etc are still covered! He is RUBBISH with money so I do all the finance in this house....
Oh, and I have another account for housekeeping too. A bit old fashioned but it works.

Well that was a waste of a couple of hours of my life!
The Totesport thing looks like it's impossible to gain anything from it. I just checked out the gambling loophole's board and have now got my eyes well and truly opened with these "free bet" things!
Oh well, I guess as I've learned something it's not a complete waste of my time.
Cagne, congrats on the bike and I'm sure the time will fly by.
See you all later,

Don't fret about age, Rosie, 60 is nothing these days. Older people are cool in my book and often nowhere near as staid as they're made out to be. Like Mabel, I swear my mum has a better social life than I do, and at 78 she shows no signs of slowing down.
