Hi Jo, just popping in briefly - you are not alone, lol. Think I will have to give up trying to catch up on the posts I have missed. Just don't get the time at the moment.
Only manage to keep on facebook because I can post from my phone when on the move.

Evening all, thanks for the mini move Jo. I thought when I first joined this thread that someone was moving house but like, only a few doors down the road or from an upstairs flat to a dowstairs flat (or vice versa). I understand now! lol
Hope all are well, or getting there!
Can I ask what "hooking" is please? Mind is boggling here! I think it's going to take me a while to get used to this "Upping Your Income" speak! I haven't stepped in to the world of "UYI" for a while, kind of fell off the wagon so to speak and don't seem to be able to get my @ss in gear to do anything seriously. I have some things in place like Quidco acct, survey accts, Slicethepie. I work full time and whilst my salary isn't brilliant, it's enough for me to get by and manage. I guess I'm just not fed up enough of "managing" yet.
Well I told some of my workmates about the M&S and Oxfam thing and got quite a lot of thanks, only one person was aware of it. I'll be leaving there in a couple of weeks so I hope they dig deep and have a good collection for me! lol They won't, they don't seem to do that sort of thing and plus there are loads of us leaving at the same time. I can live in hope though.
I have recently put my garden on the Landshare.net site and had 3 enquiries about it, but all the applicants live too far away and don't drive to really make it viable for them. I sometimes think I should bite the bullet and get out there and do it myself but I really am a lost cause out there! I get bit by anything that bites (never get stung though - strange!), get hayfever (even at funny times of the year!) and am petrified of birds, butterflies, ladybirds, well anything that flies really (even leaves) except bees and wasps! I really should have bought a flat instead of house with garden! But I just wanted a garage and my own drive! Oh, and I get sunstroke really easily! I am a wreck outside. I'm sure I was a goblin and lived in a cave, only coming out at night in a previous life!
Anyway, that was a long post - must get off and look for more money saving/making ideas.
See you all later or tomorrow.
Regards

NLID I live in a flat and I am about to start growing tomato, salad bits, cukes, and a couple other bits including possibly runner beans and peppers. I grew all of the above in pots a couple of years ago and they worked a treat as I had only a flagged garden as well. Good soil and big and even cheap pots with drainage and you are sorted. Too late now for me to plant some from seed like toms, but will get a few plants instead....instant gratification that way.I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0

I think it's been well established that I am useless in the garden but all is not lost! Yes you can plant fruit and veg in pots, containers and growbags.
I've got various bits and bobs which I've collected over the years (or salvaged) so i couldn't really tell you how much these things cost but there are lots of things you can use without having to buy stuff.
You can make your own plantpots out of newspaper (there's an instructable on it on the instructable's website. Or you can use cardboard egg cartons or yoghurt/mouse (ETA: lol I mean mousse!) cartons to start them or even butter/marge containers for herbs on your windowsill.
I'm sure there was a board on here bout gardening and the like. I'll try to find a link for you.
Good luck anyway.
