love what you've learned Elly. though sad to hear about your nephew and niece.
hmm used to drink before getting married and having kids. then have been at about 8 units a year tops for about 7 yrs.lol. mainly due to lengthy nursing of my children.
would have 1 glass of wine and then a hangover before bed cos such a light weight.lol.
however seem to be able to manage 2 these days and my units must be abot 10-12 a month now.lol.

A friend of mine opened his wife's underwear drawer and picked up a silk paper wrapped package:

'This, - he said - isn't any ordinary package.'

He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box.

'She got this the first time we went to New York , 8 or 9 years ago. She has never put it on , was saving it for a special occasion.

Well, I guess this is it.

He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothing he was taking to the funeral house, his wife had just died.

He turned to me and said:

'Never save something for a special occasion.

Every day in your life is a special occasion'.

I still think those words changed my life.

Now I read more and clean less.

I sit on the porch without worrying about anything.

I spend more time with my family, and less at work.

I understood that life should be a source of experience to be lived up to, not survived through.

    I no longer keep anything.

I use crystal glasses every day...

I'll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket, if I feel like it.

I don't save my special perfume for special occasions, I use it whenever I want to.

The words 'Someday...' and ' One Day...' are fading away from my dictionary.

    ;
If it's worth seeing, listening or doing, I want to see, listen or do it now...

I don't know what my friend's wife would have done if she knew she wouldn't be there the next morning, this nobody can tell.

I think she might have called her relatives and closest friends.
She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels.

I'd like to think she would go out for Chinese, her favourite food.

It's these small things that I would regret not doing, if I knew my time had come..

Each day, each hour, each minute, is special.

Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

Im not usually one for this kind of thing but really do think that a lot of the essence of dribble is along these lines now and again it is good to know what is really important

Oops better cheer you all back up Chapter 7 or is it 8
The day of the Bingo fundraiser
It had been very sunny in smirkingtree except in the corner where Skint's bakery sat with a permanent cloud above her shop.I need an idea ,i need people to eat my cakes to make them buy them now how? .Tradition has it in that corner that if you attend a prize bingo that the ladies from the bowling green supply you with a plate of cakes and a cup of tea as a reward for attending the prize bingo so skint decided to supply cakes, all she had to do was decide a worthy cause and a target for fundraising and those lovely ladies at the bowling club, Rosie and babymoo would do the rest .
Cagne would call the numbers and NLID would pour the drinks he was the barman after all .
Now the worthy cause well how about a bingo for Bingo thats the smirkenville dog of course who got run over by a car near the village green and had been rescued by Joey however her leg wasn't healing well as she kept trying to chase the cats .
Well Nixi printed up flyers for Bingo's bingo 1st prize a sparkling merkin curtesy of mabels merkins,2nd prize a 6ft Sulkie by paula bears pottery,3rd prize a piggin tired by Cagnes online shop.
Well there was a buzz about as well, as in most villages wednesdays were a bit slow in Smirkingtree .It looked like the whole village had turned up Trying Hard to look like they had more important things to do on a Wednesday.Evenstar had managed a babysitter and escaped from her beloved dgd for the night ,jo had left her mother in charge, and Paula came along just to see who would win the sulkie .There was a stranger in town ,but to be honest noone thought anything of her as Smirkingtree is used to people passing through as long as they are nice. MMtwgr had come along and was selling the bingobooks .
The cakes were going down a treat so Skint was dead chuffed ,the Bingo started and it turned out that cagne was an excellent bingo caller all those training days had given him a confidence boost and he performed well that night to those crazy women of smirkentree he had a sneaky suspicion that NLID was giving people doubles for free as the bowling club had never been this noisy on a Wednesday night .Everyone was shouting interestly everything other than Bingo ,house, right, whoohoo, and even my mums favourite Jeronimo (she did once you know!)
The prizes were flowing out the door and you'll never guess Emm won the Merkin and the Sulkie some shouted fix to which poor Em sighed fixed a 6ft sulkie wearing a sparkling merkin my oh's gonna kill me .
The last prize was the piggin tired i've got one in the attic so hoped I wouldnt get a pair anyway on the last shout came the call Bingo at that the poor injured dog came into the hall and ran up to the poor stranger who had arrived and peed on her leg ,you see the fundraiser was for retraining of poor Bingo the dog .
The reason he had been ran over was poor Farmer Jones had got piggin tired and had deliberately ran him down for peeing on his leg one too many time. Farmer Jones was last seen being dragged down the street by the local PC shouting about that dog Bingo taking the P***
    Goodnight Smirkingtree

Elly that's amazing, love it! Yes you are funny and more so for telling it like it is at the same time :) the stories really make me want us all to meet up, get drunk and have a huge giggle. And eat Skint's cake lol :)
well so far I have learned -
how to make clay people and that they are actually saleable
that I am worth more than I thought previously
that I want to have the confidence to speak at any future funerals I have to go to
that true friends are so precious
that it's possible to meet amazing people in the most unlikely places
that I can make myself have the energy for things if I am motivated
    that people can change
that I am capable of helping others without it being a search for reassurance that I am a worthy person
that I don't have to 'click' with everyone
    how to destroy my self-saboteur
that I can help to resolve my childrens' problems
-there's lots more but it's getting silly lol :) xx
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Me I have learnt that I can have something useful to say and that its ok to say it.
That I can face and deal with our debts and manage a budget
    That I am employable
That I can manage housework and not to be overwhelmed by it.
That online friends are every bit as supportive as real life friends.
    That I love dribbling!!!
