everythings very quiet on the dribbler front
thanks for the suggestions nolonger...will check out if there available
was watching the hotel inspector last night and she was at a b&b with a 50s theme...it was way ott and tatty but after she did some research she said that 50s theme was popular, the B&B was made over in a toned down 50s style and started to be a success
A lot of things that appeal to me are in fashion atm like coastal style for rooms and tropical prints...I treat myself to a necklace from assesorise with aloha on it...love it, could have spent a fortune

Well done on covering your tyre expence Jo...I had a really expensive visit to the garage last week....£240 for an exhaust and £66 for tyres, thats why Im skint this month, probarlbly more than my old bangers worth

I went to iron DDs school uniform last night and her polo and trousers had marks down them ,it looked like they had had bleach spilt down the front....I checked the wash basket and everything else was ok,she said she hadnt done anything at school to mark them, all the other clothes were ok...I was a mystery, also very annoying as she only had one of each as she only had a couple of months to go and I had to buy complete new uniform when we moved
Anyway I racked my brain as to what had made the marks,I washed them again...still marked as if the colour has come out,got up this morning and it came to me,on Friday night after school we went to matalan and i bought some bubbles to keep little one entertained and dd was in the garden blowing the bubbles for her and some of the mix had been splatched down her clothes......~I dont think that bubble mix should do that, do you think I should go and complain and see if I can get compensation for the uniform which I have to replace...shes agone in a black skirt today instead of navy but she is performing at the sage in newcastle on wednesday and needs smart uniform so I will have to fork out for new again with only weeks of school left

    Sorry for long post :o

thats annoying about the bubbles evenstar. think some of them do have it on in small writing like play doh does. but you wouldn't think it would be as bad as that would you.
well got my tyres and done my 15 minutes declutter.
    Jo x

Even - Maybe see if her friends have a spare one that she could borrow or the school might be able to come up with something?

  • She has only been at the school for a month so I dont really know anyone enough to ask about borrowing anything....Ihave had to go and buy new at a cost of £18
didnt see any warnings on the bubbles...still think I should complain..I mean what is in them if they take the colour out of fabric

How frustrating for you - it'd be worth checking if there's a warning about it on the bottle and if not then i'd definitely complain, nothing to lose. You wouldn't expect it to do that - i've never known it with bubbles. Hope you manage to get some recompense.

Hi everyone, was really hard to find this thread as I haven't logged in for quite a few weeks, shame on me. Not sure what I have been doing with my time except fretting over having no money. I am nowhere near the target 10k think 1k would be closer to what I've made so far - did do my first bootsale of the year on Sunday though (better late than never) and after all the lovely weather we've had I got rained off after an hour...but I did make £50.20 so that was good! OH happy that some of the clutter is disappearing too, plenty more to go though stopped from getting in attic at the moment as noticed wasps have taken up residence in rather swanky wasps nest they have built....how much will it cost to get rid of them I wonder????

    Em,
Pm'd you back. need to process how we got on with ducky man.lol.
don't think he is going to be a goer but will still be getting ducks just maybe not through him.
he had white ones , fawn and white, and black ones. didn't expect it but I lkiked the fawn and white ones best. maybe his white ones where just a bit shabby. I don't know. DH and Dd liked the black ones best and they were beautiful but they don't fit my "picture" if you know what I mean.
any way all he will sell is eggs for hatching or he will hatch for us but only keep them till 2 weeks old. he suggested getting a broody hen and hatching our own but I am not sure as wasn't planning on having hen as well.lol.
looking online I can't find anywhere that breed? sell them so need to do a bit more research. however a friend of ours has some black indian ducklings and some may be going spare. so now I'm all in a quandary and a little flat cos it doesn't all quite fit together. YET!! lol.

There's a directory of breeders here Jo - i can't see any in your area but some aren't that far away and may be worth a call/email. When we first got ours they were quite thin and their feathers were a little scraggly looking but in a few weeks they plumped right out and their feathers looked much healthier, then they really brightened up. I wouldn't know about hatching them or having them 2wks old, it sounds like a lot of work, but then if you're at home a lot it might be manageable and it might be exciting for your children to nurture them from that age. Aww i'm sorry to hear you feel flat - it will come together though, i know you'll make it happen. Hold out until it fits with your "picture" x
