Also Munchki - there are loads of places where you can go for a weekend and learn something new or a retreat or something. I see them quite often and they don't fit in with being around for my kids at the moment but there are some really cool things you can do and probably quite a few peopl will be on their own too but have a common interest for the weekend??

Yep Munchki we won't be having a holiday this year cos we can't afford it. even camping seems to cost a fortune.lol. so feel a bit strange too when everyone is asking where we are going. though we don't usually go abroad anyway but our time will come again.lol

Yes, I agree Jo! There is no way I could afford to go abroad, but do love my long weekends when I can. Stopping with M&P was really lovely and of course back off to scotland in september for a few days so that will be nice. Think what I really want is to go 'back home' for a visit, been 10 years since I have seen family and such and so much has happened there with my family, just so expensive but perhaps next summer! Overall I think because of the rubbish weather and feeling rather rubbish at mo, makes you feel a bit melancholy so to speak....funny, overall I could not be happier with my life than I am right now in all honesty, I am so lucky and so grateful for all the good things happening now and even for all the bad things of the past as they make the now all that much sweeter!!

Yep Munchki - hadn't thought about "home" being so far away for you. even when life is great there are always moments and phases where we feel down or sad or unsettled etc cos we are not static and neither are our lives. think those moments are clues to make us look a little bit more closely and kind of do some detective work to what is really underlying it cos then we can often do something towards feeling better even if it isn't the all singing all dancing solution we thought we needed at first but a baby step towards what will really make us feel good can feel almost as good as the goal itself.
don't be down on yourself for not being upbeat all the time. the down times are important too.
