Welll done Munchki on your new job :j

Well that's Ofsted out of the way Phew!

    Ok confesssion time.

I have done a very bad thing with my OU maths course..... I have got so behind because of work (50 hours unpaid overtime in 2.5 weeks)that I have just guessed 10 out of 16 maths questions on a test because I haven't got to those sections yet :o I have got quite good scores so far and know I will catch up with it all in the next two weeks as works starts to slow down for the school holidays... still feel guilty though. It's either do what I had to do or throw the towel in and I am not going to do that.

I need to do loads of ebay in the next few weeks to so we can go away for a few days.

Skint can you add me to this weeks challange please? thanks x

    TH x

    evening all,

Wel done on the Job Munchki, hugs.x
Nixi, how old is your DD? My DD is 4 and has given up her ballet/tap and disco classes much to the pleasure of my wallet (she's been going two years but they changed her teacher and she just said she didn't want to go anymore) So we have a few things lying around if you want them. She will probably start again in septeber but at the rate she's growing she will need all new kit.

Okay.... please don't take any of this the wrong way. I think your designs are fabulous (and well done on upping the visitors, that in itself is an achievement)
    - no search facility, people can't search for pearls, pink, blue etc... that might put them off as it takes lots of time to look for what they want.
    - I would get rid of the scrolling gallery on the homepage (stick it on another), and showcase one theme at a time, eg..... Seren.. nice big pics, little write up. Or maybe putting the scrolling bit at the bottom of the page..... I think you do need a write up of some sort on the home page.... Hi, we are blah blah, we do this blah blah, make your day even extra special, blah blah. From what I understand (and that's not a lot when it comes to SEO) keywords in the home page help search engines pick up the site.... 'We specialise in making dreams come true....' I think you need some sort of tag line on there to pull people in .
    - there's a lot of scrolling down to do to look at the whole page.... would it not be better to split it all up somehow? Maybe put the links to other pages at the top rather than at the side and then use the side bar bit for your best sellers / testimonials etc?? I find I prefer websites that are fairly instant on the home page rather than fitting too much in and then scrolling for ever! Like this http://www.tesco.com/ its all pretty much there and no faffing around.
    - I also think your shopping cart link should be above your page links to make it obvious
    - could you change the 'other product images' tag below your items to say something like 'matching / complimentary pieces to complete the look'

I think you might need to do a bit more self promotion.... I know you are not ready to do fairs and stuff like that yet but Etsy, Folsky and any other sites like that would be well worth it. I know you are not comfortable about blogging either but it might pay you to get someone else to do it for you, keep posting on facebook and twitter..... oh and get twitter and FB links added to your site...

Oh and did you know that the bestsellers show different items on different pages.

Blimey.... that was a bit long winded.... please don't take it the wrong way Mabel.....

just had a quick look at your site mabel and pm'd you my initial thoughts. Also do you use google analytics? If so do you know which page has the highest exit or bounce rate?

One thing I can think of on reflection is that when I looked at the icicle necklace there were pictures of the other pieces in the collection but they didn't link to them when I clicked them they just displayed larger images of the items.
Also increasing your numbers is great and may take some time to pay off.

Your flickr page was retweeted amongst lots of wedding type people today so that may have upped your visitors today...otherwise maybe try having a 'this week only' offer and if things sell, well that could be the answer. You know your jewellery is good! and if not you should know!
