I am genuinely confused, I got on the phone which I was absolutely dreading as I know normally when I get onto these calls I end up stressed as hell speaking to india.

It all stems to the final demands for payment (I hadnt had any bills as it was all set up via dd - which I checked and they hadnt been taking)

Instead I spoke to a guy in southampton (sp), who was very understanding and could see that the direct debit had been setup for monthly billing, but the money hadnt been requested from them... following this he cancelled the charges as it was not my fault and worked out what the cheapest option was for me moving forward, quoting figures he said he could only give me as he was in the cancellation team (not sure if its true or not) and basically stating the arrears would be cleared over 12 months with the DD, however as my energy prices are now lower my DD does not increse.

I am quite honestly confused. I am getting all of this in writing in the next 7 days so will believe it all then - I just cant comprehend having what appears like perfect customer service from a large corporation!

oh yeah - its a great confusion

im simply puzzled about it all to be honest. I am saving money but not saving money but dont have to pay the £380(ish) for the fuel I used in the last quarter+arrears from '09.

    Im puzzled

Hiya Mabel, I know what you mean about the weather, very warm today but a little cooler than it was, suits me fine, I don't do hot very well!

NLID brilliant news with the car, such an easy transaction, very very well done! I don't wish to be negative, but I have never had such a thing as a complete customer service from British Gas, and have been fighting with them for the last 4 years. Helpful advisors, but in my experience, the follow-through falls apart - every.single.time. Fingers crossed it's easier with you.

Just back from some pleasure shopping in my favourite little shop, I spend ages in there and blether with the owner, and I never fail to come away smiling! Can't be more specific than that about the shop, as have got a couple of goodies for my visit to Munchki and don't want to give the game away aha! :D

Hooray for the smile on my face, long may it last!

Anyhow, not going to sit down, off to do a quick clean up and just realised I have no idea what's for dinner tonight now since I forgot to put the slow cooker on earlier!! DD wants me to take her up to the bank when she gets home from school as I thought it would be a good idea for her to get her own cashcard account. She's very sensible with her money, and this way, provided she works for it, I'll put a regular amount in and she can use it as and when she wants/needs. Hmm might have a slight problem with that actually, since I've just remembered her passport is at her dads.... Not sure what else they'd take, maybe her birth cert and address id for me, given her age.

Hey ho, enough blethering, must get on! Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

Oh I know, I am just surprised as every single time I have spoken to them in teh past it has been to someone who doesnt speak english in an understandable manner from mumbai, and cant even answer the simplest of questions!

I always expect a fight however for once I have a slight bit of optimism that this matter can be sorted amicably!

Just popping in, as I think I need to lie down in a darkened room ... I am obviously delirious. As of this morning, DD had next to nothing on her floor (OMG!!!) and I've just spotted her heading upstairs with the vacuum cleaner and as I type I can hear vacuumy sucking noises from her room. Her room hasn't been vacuumed since about 2004 I don't think, as we've not been able to see the floor since then!!!
