Shortage of PAYG iphones on orange

Theres a problem with PAYG iphones in the orange stores. The 10 nearest to me are all out of stock and all saying theres a stock problem and dont know when they will be getting any in, could be up to a month.
Surly thats very bad for business?
Anybody know anything about this?
Finally decided to get myself one last week and went down to orange with my money to be told out of stock. Guy called round other branches and same story. Spoke to a manager who said theres a stock problem.
Grrr really looking forward to getting my iphone aswell

There's probably only a couple of months until a new model comes out. Maybe they're reducing stock in advance. Have you tried ordering online or via their telesales dept?

The Next iphone (HD or 4G, whatever) should be announced June 7th-9th for release July sometime.
