I made a post earlier about my current contract, Iv got 18 months left on vodafone, but the phone is totally rubbish, I dont want to sent it to be repaired because I think its just the phone, my boyfriend has the same make and model and I knew someone else with the same phone and same problems.
I was wondering, is it possible to buy an iPhone off the internet and put my sim card in there? because I heard that you have to register with the sim the iphone comes with and its not possible to put your own sim in it? but then someone has told me on my other post that I could get one off the internet. Im so confused. I wouldnt mind it I could pay vodafone a bit extra for them to give me an iPhone but stay on the same contract? (even if the contract price goes up slightly I dont mind.)(my contract is vodafone by the way)

you can get an i phone, chuck a free o2 pay as you go sim in, put £15 credit on the card and then they will unlock it for you..

Yes. If you're a Pay Monthly customer, then your iPhone can be unlocked at any point for free. Don't forget that you will still need to honour the remainder of the minimum term of your contract.

    Pay & Go customers
Yes, you can unlock your iPhone for a one-off cost of £15. You'll pay for this from the money topped-up on your phone.

But if you unlock your iPhone less than 12 months after you bought it, we'll take off the free Web & Wi-Fi Bolt On (that we added for the first 12 months). You can buy a Web & Wi-Fi Bolt On for £10 a month when you fill in the unlocking form. Find out more about the Web & Wi-Fi Bolt On here.

Complete the unlocking form - it will take up to 14 days for the iPhone to be unlocked and we'll text you to confirm the unlock request.

Only the network that a phone was sold on can unlock them.

You'd need to get a payg sim for it (if it wasn't on your network), and stick some credit on to pay for the unlock.

Avoid buying any iPhone bar the 3Gs model as all the previous ones are being dumped support wise by apple as the new 4.0 ugrade won't work on them.
