ICICI - such a pain in the you know whats

Tried opening a hi-save fixed rate bond account with them

OK, they said that they needed photocopies of either passport or driving licence, and bank statement and to get someone to verify that these were signed for by someone with some authority i.e. solicitor, MP or MEP etc....

1st occasion: the person who signed for it didn't have their name and telephone number on the stamp, so they sent the documents back

This time there was a person's name and telephone number was on the stamp
2nd occasion: they said that a) the person never signed for it (ermm...yes they did) b) the person's name isn't on it (Well, if you looked at the stamp you will find the person's name, duh),

So I am not going to invest in them, they clearly have enough money

    I would AVOID.
We had planty of hassle and have now moved away.

Have had hassle with benefits and delays as ICICI will not produce statements.
Will not send tax statement even though they said they did.
Have never had ANYTHING ever in writing from them.
They lapse your login and eventually your account.

You are better off without them..

I was looking at them - will not bother after reading this! Sometimes a bit of extra interest is not worth the hassle!

Yes they are covered by the £50k protection scheme as its a UK subsidiary.

Protection up to £50K per person, £100K if it is a joint account, it has a FSA number
