Following on from Murphy the Cat's post number 10 on this thread, we gave this a go a couple of weeks ago, and really enjoyed it.
I had thought we would get lost along the way without a map or anything, so thought we'd do our best but probably end up doing our own thing. But the directions were spot on! We had a really lovely day; we live in Lancashire so often visit the Lakes for an afternoon but it was nice to go somewhere different to usual.
We weren't quite prepared for all the parking fees though - and although Jenny's tearoom was lovely it was extremely expensive. Cost us £11 for 2 tiny cups of coffee and 2 cakes!!
Still, all in all it was very worth it, beautiful views and a nice varied day roaming around the Lakes. Thanks MTC0 -

Murphy the Cat - we did most of your route + my son now wants to follow me up mountains!
Only one update - it cost us £2 for parking at Lakeside (bottom of Windermemere: I bet it was free 2 years ago when you posted) and somebody told me laterI could have gone free as an NT member in nearby Fell Foot park?
Also if you could organise a bit less fog for us next itme, we'd have a better look at the views!
thanks v much for an otherwise great day.....0 -

nope you would have had to pay two years ago at lakeside, and yes you could have parked free at fell foot as an NT member.
