Cancelling a contract or switching...getting a new phone???
I want to change my contract. I am with Vodafone at the moment and have a Nokia Music Xpress (which I would not reccommend, its flashing and playing up as I type) My boyfriend has the same phone, he took the contracts out for both of us. We have only had them for 6 months and still have 18 months left and the phones have given us problems since the first month(switching off, cutting off calls, phone freezing, terrible battery life and we hardly use them!). He is on o2 and Im with Vodafone. I dont mind staying on the same package that Im on now, I dont use as much minutes as I pay for so would be nice to go on a lower tarrif if I could, but I want to change the phone I have (I want an iPhone!)
So as I am not allowed to discuss the contract with Vodafone (its not in my name and my boyfriend is working late) I just wondered if anyone knows how I could go about cancelling already as the phone I have is breaking and not my fault? Or if there is anyway I could stay with vodafone but get an iPhone with them. I dont mind paying a bit extra as long as it isn't too much.

You cant cancel or make any changes to a contract that is not in your name.
Your boyfriend has agreed a 24 month contract agreement with Vodafone which has 18 months to run. If he wanted to cancel early, he would need to pay the remaining months line rental which would be with a 25% discount for early termination and minus VAT.
Your contract is for access to the network and does not include your phone. If the phone is faulty, take it into a Vodafone store and arrange for it to be sent away for repair.
If you are desperate for an iphone, there are online sites where you will be able to purchase an iphone. You would then be able to carry on using the contract and your boyfriend may be able to arrange for you to have an iphone tariff.
You could always take out a second line for an iphone contract with Vodafone and, subject to a credit check, you would be responsible for the payments.0
