the person i won from was and still is a personal seller, i opened a paypal dispute, won, sent item 1st class recorded but guess what RM never updated system so im not out pocket on the item and my money and still waiting to hear re my rm claim0 -

Thanks OrkneyStar, you have the same thinking as me. I am not saying that I want to show off the label, what I am trying to say is that - "label" plays a big part in buyers side - on auction website you can only see the clothes on display and the sellers also specifically states that they will remove the label before sending out and no returns!
You cannot just take the words of other person(s) and assumed that they are actually what they describe. Just like Soolin said - somebody might cut off the label from any shop & they can claim that it is genuine and its from Cavalli.
High Street chainstore lets say Primark - they can redesigned their merchandise using same material to make it look similar like Cavalli & sell it for £15, somebody list it on ebay and states Cavalli, etc but label has been removed. So who do you trust? The seller or the Label.
My money will go for the Label that is still attached to the item. And if I decided to snip the label, thats my decision to do so and not the seller - The label is not for the show off its to make sure that I get what I paid for.
Why would I bid from the seller who states BNWT & then on their description they states "label" will be remove before despatch. It is bad enough not to have the tag on but they will snip the label off too! and no refund/return.RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -
If I sell my clothes the labels have often been cut out by me, if they're visible when I'm wearing them I chop them off.
Nothing worse then a label sticking out of clothes in my opinion & that's wherever they're from.0 -

I also cut a lot of my labels out mainly because as others have mentioned, they itch or because they are too visible.
I did read once in an interview with designers that they would rather see their clothing burned than sell it cheaply and insist the labels of last seasons clothing are removed before being sold on. They then went on to talk about protecting good clients and only wanting a certain clientèle wearing their clothing.
I suppose if you look at it from their point of view it makes sense, If I had designed an item and was selling it for £300 in my shop the last thing I would want is to see it next year appearing on Ebay for £30, I'd insist the labels were removed too.
Edit: Just wanted to add, If I was told an item had come from a certain place and it arrived with no label then I would not be at all happy, if you are going to cut out labels then you shouldn't "brand drop" no label - no brand.
What kind of feedback do you usually leave because I would expect to receive an item exactly like the description, if a dress is listed as Karen Millen and has no evidence of being from there then in my opinion its not as described.2012 wins:
