  • Hmmmm - Belfast is classified as Ireland and the Islands and the postage is £7 - waiting to see if the code works.

My daughter bought me The New English Kitchen for Christmas - I read it cover to cover before the end of the holidays ... I can second Moggins on this .. it is absolutely brilliant.

The merangue recipe works every time ... daughter just says that I don't make enough of them in one go :rotfl:

It's okay, does seem to concentrate on meat though but it has a great recipe for roast potato soup :D

It does have a whole chapter on using gluts of fruit and veg.

Thank goodness it concentrates on meat!......I'm a veggie and was just nearly tempted to buy ANOTHER cookery book! :D

Plus - while we're on the subject of amazing books, check this one out - I have the previous version. This is the new one coming out. it is AMAZING...have a peek, you can do search inside :

Thanks Moggins - just ordered mine now. The book about preserving looks good too, being as we are going in to Autumn. I didn't order it 'cus I just love my Marguerite Patten book; Jams, Preserves and Chutneys, but that does cost £7.99 and the one from The Book People is cheaper.

Thanks Moggins - it does look like the postage code worked for NI - I ordered an extra one for a Xmas pressie for my sister and got the preserving book free. Can't wait till they arrive!!

There's also the book "preserved" for 3.99 which is a fantastic book!
