i also would like to know what a pret lite breakfast is?! by the sound of it, i'll be quick marching to the nearest cafe for a full english!

Emailed them and had this response:

Our breakfast is from Pret a Manager which consists of yoghurt compote,
a banana and an orange juice. We also have a restaurant in the lobby
which can offer a wider range of breakfast options that you can charge
back to your room if you like.

    EDIT:
The £1 Rates have now gone- but are £29 per night rooms including breakfast available which is still a great deal and can be booked for consecutive nights !

Room sale begins on Tuesday 15th August 2006 at 7am. Rate inclusive of Pret Lite Breakfast, free WI-FI and VAT. This rate has a maximum stay requirement of 1 night.

    From the guardian (http://observer.guardian.co.uk/travel/story/0,,1810553,00.html)
    "The hotel
Sinclair Beecham, one of the men behind sandwich chain Pret A Manger, is swapping butties and biscuits for bed and breakfast with the launch of his first 'budget luxury' hotel. The Hoxton (020 7729 4935; www.hoxtonhotels.com) is due to open in London's hip Shoreditch district on 1 September and promises a high quality restaurant and lobby bar. The 20 twin and 185 double en suite rooms will have modern decor, air conditioning, flat screen TVs, digital radio and free Wi-fi, and will cost from £99. Guests will receive a free Pret breakfast."

    EDIT:

SOMETHING ELSE I JUST MISSED OUT ON - ROOMS NOW SHOW AT £59.
    STILL, NOT BAD FOR LONDON.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I booked this on Monday at £29. I have had a confirmation email but no money has been taken from my credit card. What do you reckon?

Anyone been yet as im going this week. Was it nice?
  • Yes, very nice. It's done up all trendy - leather and wood everywhere, LCD screens in the bedrooms, well kitted out (hairdryer included), corridors are lit in orange light around the doors. Staff are helpful, food is pretty good - not the cheapest but not expensive either. Free breakfast was okay. Also, the reception sells cans of coke and sweets/chocolates for normal prices (e.g. 50p for a can of coke). Its a 5 minute walk from the nearest tube which is Old Street on the northern line.

Was it near any other restaurants as my daughter is coming with me and food looks too posh for her (any italian restaurants or pizza places?) .
Also is it far from any theatres as im wondering about taking her to see lion king or something.

We went last week and had a great time. Hotel is not near any theatres to my knowledge but we got the tube to the Victoria Apollo to see Wicked. We got preview £5 seats - not sure if any still available. Depending on how old your daughter is this could be an idea? We did not eat locally so can't recommend anywhere near the hotel........

    Have a good time!
