Alternatives to eBay - please help

Hi everyone
If you reading this forum then perhaps like me you are fed up with eBay and their fees and ways. I have just done some selling for the first time in a little while and was shocked at the final selling fees.
Rather than us all just sitting around moaning about it, and wishing we had any power to change eBay which we don't. Perhaps we could all post some good alternatives and their pro's and con's as well as experiences people have had.
Here's a starter:
eBid
Gumtree
Car boot sale
Garage sale
What about the small and free adds?

none of those are real rivals to eBay
each has their own plus and minus points
you know gumtree is owned by eBay?0 -
You work for eBay right custardy? I know that and what isn't owned by eBay is probably owned by Google, but this is not the point. Evertthing is a possible good alternatve to eBay given their current fee structure. I would rather send my stuff to land fill than pay what they are now asking!0

because i dont vent eBay hate i work for eBay?
oh my sides
okay so ebid is a viable alternative to eBay
create a listing on ebay and ebid for the exact same item, see which one sells for the highest price and fastest
gumtree, ever used it? great for local sales but dont expect massive prices and you have a small market
car boot, good if you have the time but again small market
feel free to correct me and i can go back to my eBay masters to tell me what to reply0 -

I either list on ebay or sell on car boots depending on the item.
I wouldn't use ebid or any other sites.
Ebay is better because you get a worldwide audience, plus I've never had any problems.
It's all about common sense and being careful.
To the OP, yes the final value fees may seem high compared to other sites, but at least you get the sales. My daughters are my world0 -
Amazon and priceminister are two other marketplaces you can sell on.For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.0
