I applied for one back in late Feb and there was an error (they made) in my postcode, so I corrected it and signed the forms. After which they told me they had to rekey the whole account again. Its still being done and I dont think I can get the travel insurance setup for next week now. Bunch 'o cowboys!

I'm not sure what travel insurance has to do with ISAs, p00hbear.

Thanks, Mark, for pointing out the BACS option, which I had overlooked.

Does DD not take a few days just like BACS?
We've done this on other threads, but here goes again ...

BACS takes 3 days from account A to account B. You normally lose 2 days' interest in between, but it'll be 4 days over a weekend (or even more over bank holidays).

DD takes no time from account A to account B, but it takes time to process the instruction. So quite likely, you'll request the payment on day 1 and it'll be processed on day 3, but the debit and credit will hit both accounts on that day ... so no lost interest.

DD is ALWAYS the best (quickest) way to transfer money between accounts - so that applies to transferring savings as well as paying bills.

Also, I received a letter from A&L on 24 March to say that my Online Saver has been opened but more than a week later, I am still waiting for my Customer ID & PIN. How long does it usually take to arrive??
    Thanks

finally called them up today to ask about my Internet Banking details; apparently they were never sent out :P Not a good start with A&L. Have to wait another week now *sigh*

Have had a current account linked to plus saver with A&L for a few years now & have never had any problems with transfering money.
Opened a on line saver last year & have never had any probs with that either. Helped arrange a mortgage for my son with them as well.
I have always been happy with A&L whether on line or on the High Street & would recommend them to anyone.

I've been with A & L for over 25 years (from being a Girobank Account). Have never had any problems with them. Recently opened an online saver account. Again no problems.
