Skoda favorit, £250 with 9 months tax and 11 months MOT, used it for loads of building work and then sold it nearly two years later for £125 with less than a months tax and 2 months MOT.
Cost me 4 wheels and tryes off ebay for a tenner, a new rotor arm, that was it.

Wish used cars were still this cheap, I can't find anything with more than 6 months test on it for less than £500.

Replacement for the skoda was a peugeot 105 1.5D
£475 with 3 months tax and 9 months MOT.
Still got that one as it's so reliable.
Done over 35000 miles in it, all it's had is new tyres and brakes, radiator and a couple of brake pipes, and two rear shocks, and the cam belt became due.

Best thing about cheap bangers is you can park/dump them any where with no worries of damage. :p

Ah back in the day when the VW Golf did actually live up to it's name.
